Most
frequently asked questions about TP-Link range extenders
This article mainly introduces how to configure
and use our TP-Link Range Extender properly. And also we provide the solution
or method of trouble-shooting for some common issues.
This article consists of the following
chapters, please refer to relevant chapters according to the problems you
encounter.
Q1.1:How can I set the extender up?
A: We have a
setup video for your reference to set it up, click here to
check the video.
Why I can't see my extender's network after configuration?
A: The
default TP-Link Extender or TP-Link Extender_XXXX name
is for configuration. Once we set the extender up, it will have a new Wi-Fi
name. Some models, they have the same Wi-Fi name as your existing Wi-Fi
name. For the others, _EXT will be added at the end of your existing Wi-Fi
name. But you can always create your own new Wi-Fi name.
For example, if your existing Wi-Fi name
is ABCD, after configuration, the possible extended network names may be ABCD,
ABCD_EXT, ABCD_EXT_5G, or the one you create by yourself.
For Tether APP:
1. Please login your TP-Link range extender on Tether APP. The
password would be admin or the new password you have
created.
2. On the main screen of the TP-Link range extender, click
on Extended Network and change the Network Name for
your Extended Network.
Note: The wireless password of the
TP-Link extended network should be exactly the same as your host network and we
cannot change it on the TP-Link extender.
3. Or you can click on Tools on the bottom of the main screen of the TP-Link range extender. Then go to Extended Network and
change the wireless network name.
Note: The wireless password of the
TP-Link extended network should be exactly the same as your host network and we
cannot change it on the TP-Link extender.
